Conclusion: What Happened to the Loyalists?
During the war, the Loyalists were unaware of the lasting impact that they would have on two countries. Not only were the Tories participants in a story that included political, military, and personal strife in America, the aftermath of the Revolutionary War enabled them to influence Canada. After the war, many British troops, which included Loyalists, fled America to Nova Scotia. In Canada a whole new government was established by the emigrants, one which was greatly influenced by the roots of Tory belief. This information provides the notion that a civil war within one country can have very dramatic and lasting effects on multiple parts of the world.
